PhilaU Exhibit for DesignPhiladelphia Opens Saturday

An exhibit of PhilaU Industrial Design projects opens for DesignPhiladelphia this Saturday, October 15th at the Center for Architecture.

In Spring of 2011, our ID Design Studio 4 students collaborated with corporate sponsors Fessenden Hall, Smith & Fong, and Eco Supply to uncover new uses for Plyboo, a line of bamboo plywood made by Smith & Fong.

The project was a great success: an array of unique bamboo designs took shape, from lighting to environments to iPod players. A number of the students were also invited to display their final designs at this year’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York.

Everyone is invited to see the results of this exciting collaboration on Saturday. Light food and beverages will be served, and it’s a great opportunity to network with fellow designers.

The event is this Saturday, October 15th at the Center for Architecture, 1218 Arch Street from 5:00pm to 8:30 and is open to everyone. Hope to see you there!
